The content is stated in the report of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council. That is a list of land acquisition projects for socio-economic development.

Nguyen Khoai road and bridge project passes through 3 areas: District 7, District 4, and District 1. Therefore, 1.7 hectares of land need to be recovered this year.

The above total area is part of nearly 11.3 hectares of the total project area. The remaining areas in Districts 1 and 7 have no clearance.

Since 2016, the Nguyen Khoai road and bridge project has been approved for investment by the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City. The total investment is 1,250 billion VND, scale is 1 km. The project starts from D1 Street, Him Lam residential area (district 7) to the endpoint at Ben Van Don Street (district 4).

After that, the project had to be adjusted many times and investment capital increased. Currently, the total investment of the project is more than 3,700 billion VND (compensation cost for clearance is more than 1,264 billion VND, and construction cost is 1,748 billion VND).

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said that if the project is approved, in 2024, procedures will be completed to select a construction contractor and start construction. It includes bridge and road works in District 1 in the fourth quarter of 2024.

In 2025, compensation, support, and resettlement of the project will be completed, and the entire construction site will be handed over. In 2026 - 2027, construction will be organized to complete the entire project and put it into operation.

Currently, it depends mainly on two routes Nguyen Tat Thanh and Nguyen Huu Tho to connect the central area with the southern districts of the city.

However, these two traffic routes have become overloaded over the years, and traffic jams often occur.

Therefore, the Nguyen Khoai road and bridge project is expected to reduce traffic on existing roads and increase connections between the two areas.
