Three things to keep in mind when traveling on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway

This expressway is connected to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway at the first intersection, so it is mandatory for vehicles to paste the ETC automatic toll collection.

After about 2.5 years of construction, the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway project will be put into use from April 29. This 99 km long expressway will help reduce some of the traffic pressure on National Highway 1A, the section through Dong Nai province.

Here are the things drivers on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway need to know to be more proactive when traveling, especially during the holidays of April 30 and May 1.

No toll yet but the car still has to stick ETC

Up to now, the intersections of Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway have not yet been built toll stations, which means that people do not have to pay tolls when traveling. The representative of the Ministry of Transport shared with Zing that the North-South highway sections that are about to be put into operation will not be charged vehicle fees.

The reason is that the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway is invested with state budget capital. The government has developed a project to collect tolls to pay back the roads invested by the State, but so far the project has not been approved.

Although there is no toll, vehicles that want to travel all 99 km of the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway must still have an ETC automatic toll card.

The reason is that the starting point of this expressway is connected to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, people when coming to this intersection must enter the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway to move. Transfer back to National Highway 1A, section of Dau Giay or towards Ho Chi Minh City.

Vehicle owners should pre-load money into the automatic toll collection account for easy circulation. The VETC automatic toll collection unit recommends that customers recharge their accounts before the holidays to avoid network congestion, making it difficult to move through toll booths.

Top speed 120 km/h

Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway has a maximum speed of 120 km/h and a minimum speed of 60 km/h. This regulation is similar to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, which is also the highest speed allowed in Vietnam.

Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway has a total of 6 lanes, including 2 emergency stop lanes. Vehicles should travel in the right lane, especially those that are not traveling at a maximum speed of 120 km/h.

Currently, on this highway, there are still no stops and gas stations, so drivers should consider checking the vehicle before entering. If going from the direction of Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway, you can stop at the stop on the highway to check the car.

There are only 3 exits

Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway has a total of 7 intersections, corresponding to 7 exits. However, on the occasion of the inauguration, only 3 intersections were put into operation, including the first point (connecting with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway), the endpoint (the Ba Bau intersection) and the intersection with National Highway 1A in Xuan Loc district. , Dongnai province.

With a limited number of exits, it is likely that this expressway will experience congestion during the holidays, especially at the first and last two intersections. Users should consider traveling by the familiar QL1A route if they find traffic jams.
