The trillion road connecting Long An and Ho Chi Minh City is being accelerated

Leaders of Long An province directed localities and investors to speed up the progress of site clearance and construction of provincial road project 823D (new Northwest axis connecting Long An - Ho Chi Minh City) with a length of 14,2km, total investment capital of more than 1,100 billion VND.

Leaders of Long An Provincial People's Committee just had a meeting to check progress and work with localities and investors. According to Long An newspaper, the content is about the implementation of the 823D provincial road project in Duc Hoa district.

Provincial road project 823D (new Northwest axis connecting Long An - Ho Chi Minh City) has a total length of 14.27km. The road surface has 4 lanes, 14m wide, 2 parallel lanes, 7m wide, road base 32 m-40 m wide. Total investment is nearly 1,106 billion VND.

According to the report of Duc Hoa district Project Management Board, the project has a cleared area of 105.79 hectares; 1,289 households and 5 organizations were affected.

Up to now, counting land and assets on land, applying prices, and preparing compensation plans have been approved by the District People's Committee. Currently, compensation has been paid to 1,208 households and 1 organization, with a total area of land is over 87.3 hectares, an amount of over 3,062 billion VND.

Currently, contractors are implementing 7 construction stages: Digging and sanding the road base (reaching 12.20/14.27km); red gravel (reaching 4.14/14.27km); lower layer gravel (reaching 2.60/14.27km), upper layer gravel (reaching 1.3/14.27km); sidewalks, median strips (1.3/14km) and drainage pipes (reaching 7.64/12.24km). The volume value to date has reached 29.62%.

According to the Project Management Board, during the construction process, there were difficulties that affected the progress, such as some households who did not agree to receive compensation due to disputed land and complained about the low compensation price. and request to buy preferential resettlement land...

Leaders of the People's Committee of Long An province have directed Duc Hoa district to coordinate with investors to quickly remove difficulties to speed up construction and ensure project progress.

When completed, provincial road 823D will increase traffic connection between Ho Chi Minh City and Long An. Therefore, it contributes to stimulating economic development, attracting investment, promoting trade and service industries, and the urbanization speed of the region.
